25,000 Yuan Polyester Processing Fee: Manufacturer Defaults on Payment After Two-Year Business Relationship

A polyester yarn processor who was owed 25,000 yuan for processing services obtained a judgment for full payment after the manufacturer failed to appear in court, with the court confirming the debt through both the plaintiff’s receipts and an independent debt schedule found in a related case file.

Starting in January 2009, the plaintiff provided polyester yarn processing services for a manufacturing company. The business relationship continued for approximately three years, with the processor completing work according to the manufacturer’s specifications and delivering the finished products.

On January 19, 2012, the parties conducted a settlement of the outstanding balance, and the manufacturer confirmed it still owed 25,000 yuan in processing fees. The processor initially also sought 3,000 yuan in interest but voluntarily withdrew that claim during the proceedings, simplifying the dispute to the principal amount only.

The manufacturer was properly summoned but failed to appear at trial, waiving its right to challenge the evidence. The court independently verified the debt by examining a related case file involving the same defendant, where the manufacturer had submitted its own debt schedule listing the 25,000 yuan obligation to this plaintiff. This independent confirmation from the defendant’s own records strengthened the court’s confidence in the claim.

The court confirmed the processing contract was valid and the manufacturer’s failure to pay constituted a breach. By withdrawing the interest claim, the plaintiff reduced the scope of the dispute, which the court permitted as it did not prejudice the defendant’s rights. The judgment ordered payment of 25,000 yuan within seven days, with double interest on delays. Court costs were reduced from 420 yuan to 210 yuan under simplified procedure, charged to the manufacturer.
